Land Charges
A Local Land Charges Search is required whenever a property is purchased, leased or re-mortgaged. This gives you information on the existence of obligations or "charges" enforceable against the property / land, which you need to know about, for example, planning or building control information. The Local Land Charge Act 1975 and the Local Land Charges Rules 1977 gives any person the right to search the Local Land Charges Register upon payment of the prescribed fee. We are responsible for providing the Council’s Land Search process. This includes maintaining the Local Land Charges Register and the completion of the Con29 Form (PDF) (Enquiries of Local Authorities questionnaire). A search of the Local Land Charges Register can be conducted either in person or by the submission of a written request on a LLC 1 Form (PDF File), either by post or electronically through one of the channels supporting the NLIS hub (National Land Information Service). If you wish to subscribe to the services offered by one of the Government licensed channels please contact one of the following: The Local Land Charges office, the Planning Department and Environmental Health records supply most of the information contained on the search. Nottinghamshire County Council supply information relating to highway matters. Our Local Land Charges Leaflet (PDF file) gives full information on our service and fees. You will require Adobe Reader to view any PDF documents. Files: Local Land Charges Information Leaflet (PDF, 31 Kb) |
