Apprenticeships

Apprenticeships are an excellent way of gaining qualifications and workplace experience – you can earn as you learn and gain practical skills from working.

Newark and Sherwood District Council supports the National Apprenticeship Programme.

All our apprenticeship opportunities are advertised on our website, at local job centres, NVQ training providers and on the national apprenticeship website.

The apprentice contract is usually for a temporary period of 12 months.  Unfortunately we are unable to guarantee a permanent job at the end of the 12 months, however apprentices are encouraged to apply for any suitable vacancies that do arise during their contract.
