The Not Scary Poetry Group of ordinary folk meets on the first Friday of each month at 6pm to read and talk about poetry in the relaxed and informal setting of Southwell library. Membership is free.

Exciting news from Lowdham Festivals is that film is back in Lowdham!
In partnership with Lowdham Village Hall Film Friday is a monthly community film show in Lowdham Village Hall.
Most films have a bookstall plus refreshments, including ice cream, popcorn, home made cakes, hot and cold drinks, and a licensed bar at the evening screenings.

- Stitching Station Craft Club
The Stitching Station is a community group bringing people together from Edwinstowe and the surrounding area who want to share their interest and skills in all forms of needlecraft and textile work. All ages and abilities are welcome, and we hope to have the facilities soon to be able to provide access for wheelchair users.
Activities include knitting, sewing by hand or machine, crochet, felting, embroidery, tatting and anything to do with textiles. We also get involved in sewing for charity at times and we are looking to do something special for next year’s WW! Centenary. We have regular workshops that are free to members (materials may cost extra) but open to anyone who is interested.

- Old Station Artisan Craft Club
We are a small group of local people experimenting and working with a variety of materials in a creative way. So far, we have used a various of modelling materials to make, take impressions and cast unique ceramic tiles. Tried out hand at faux bonsai making and two ways of glass painting.
Periodic workshops will take place with the support of West Notts Community College and others for a small extra fee. Our future plans include fabric dying, jewellery making, calligraphy and leatherwork. Come and join in the fun, meet new people and be a part of this venture. All you need to bring are ideas enthusiasm and a sense of adventure. We take it in turns to choose an activity, but you can bring your own light craft project if you wish. All abilities welcome.
