Paying your invoice by telephone

You can pay over the phone using a debit card.  Please call 01636 650000, during office hours, or use the 24 hour payments line on 01636 655978

Please make sure that you have ready:

• your debit card
• your invoice account number
• the amount you wish to pay
• a pen to record the transaction number

 Paying your invoice by post

You can send your payment by post by sending your postal orders / cheque made payable to Newark and Sherwood District Council to:

Please write your name, address and invoice number on the back of the cheque. Please note that receipts are not sent for these payments.

I am having difficulty paying. Can I make an arrangement?

If you are having difficulty paying your invoice by the due date, please contact the Housing Benefit Overpayments office, on 01636 655375

A number of local and national advice services may also be able to help with financial issues.

If you disagree with the invoice or it is not clear why it has been sent to you, please contact Housing Benefit Overpayments office immediately, either by telephone on 01636 655375, or in writing.

It is important that you get in touch straight away if you have a query on the invoice or dispute it in any way. If you don’t tell us that there is a problem with the invoice, recovery action will continue which may result in County Court action.
