Using Your Digital PR to Grow Your Business
Using Your Digital PR to Grow Your Business workshop will take place on Thursday 22nd March 2018 at Edwinstowe House, Edwinstowe, Nottinghamshire, NG21 9PR. The workshop will commence from 830am and conclude at 1pm.
PR can boost your bottom line. But for many entrepreneurs PR is either a black art, total mystery, or out of their reach financially.
The Using Your Digital PR to Grow Your Business gives entrepreneurs the confidence, skills and tools they need to start doing their own PR using the new digital tools available.
This workshop that is taking place is free to attend for small and medium sized enterprises. It will be of particular interest to those who have responsibility for corporate communications, marketing and digital content.

Expo East – Connecting Businesses across the East of England
Wednesday 25 April at Newark Showground

NEW Local Improvement Scheme
Local voluntary and community organisations in Nottinghamshire can apply for grants up to £50,000 as part of the new Local Improvement Scheme from Nottinghamshire County Council.
Grants are available to support
- Capital projects to help pay for a new asset or to improve an existing one like land, buildings and play equipment
- Revenue projects to help support the day-to-day running costs of community schemes including room hire, staff costs, volunteer expenses and utility charges.

D2N2 Growth Hub ScaleUp Service
If your company is growing at a pace that is hard to manage, then D2N2 Growth Hub ScaleUp could be the ideal solution.
This service runs until March 2018 and is made available exclusively to a limited number of companies in 3 categories of high-growth business:
Scale-up business - businesses with at least 10 people, turnover between £1-15m annual growth of 20%+ for the last 3 years.
Potential Scale-up business - businesses with at least 10 people, a turnover of between £1-15m and that have achieved some of the ScaleUp criteria, such as annual growth of 10% for the last 3 years or 20%+ for the last 2 years.
Ambitious Businesses - businesses that can demonstrate their potential to scale up along with partial scale-up characteristics, such as: right size but not growing because they need specific help.
Once a business makes contact, it will undergo initial eligibility checks. Eligible businesses will then be referred to a well-trained and highly knowledgeable ScaleUp advisor to determine the most suitable and appropriate support package.

Growing Places Fund
Round four of the Growing Places Fund is now open offering loans between £250,000 and £2million to individual companies or organisations to finance capital (building and infrastructure) investment, resulting in business growth and job creation.
Funded projects must be located within D2N2 LEP’s area, covered by the administrative boundaries of Derby City, Derbyshire County, Nottingham City and Nottinghamshire County local authorities.
Funding is limited and preference will be given to projects which deliver on the LEP’s strategic priorities and key areas of economic focus. More information on these is available on the D2N2 Website and in its Strategic Economic Plan.

There is no cut off date by which applications must be received, at this time, though applicants are encouraged to submit applications as soon as possible.

Pioneer 10 is a new and free business awards and growth programme which is open to start-ups and ambitious SMEs across Nottinghamshire. It offers free business training workshops along with the opportunity to win a package of support up to the value of £25,000
Pioneer 10 offer a series of workshops that are free to attend for start-up and growth businesses across Nottinghamshire. The events will take place at the three Nottinghamshire Innovation Centres– Mansfield i-Centre, Newark Beacon and Worksop Turbine which are managed by Oxford Innovation
Delegates will be encouraged to use the knowledge gained from the workshops to submit their business idea for the Pioneer10 awards programme.
Ten start-up or growth businesses will be selected to receive one to one coaching and guidance from our experienced business experts. This stage will open up a world of new possibilities for business owners and significantly increase their chances of success.
The panel of judges, taken from business leaders across Nottinghamshire will then select two of these Pioneers to receive high value / high impact business support packages worth up to £25,000 leveraging the resources of Oxford Innovation and their partners

Grant in Enterprise
As an existing business you could access up to £2,500 of funding to help your business. NBV have directly supported local businesses to access over £2m in grant funding over the past 3 years and they are now offering businesses in Newark and Sherwood the Grant for Enterprise.
Eligible businesses can claim up to £2,500 for specific projects or investments. In order to be eligible you must:
- Fit the criteria of Small and Medium Sized Business (SME)
- Have commenced trading
- Only trade business to business, not retail or business to consumer.
