You can pay your business rates bill by any of the following methods:

Paying your business rates by direct debit

Setting up a direct debit is easy. Simply telephone the business rates office to supply your bank details and our staff will do the rest for you. You have a choice of payment dates, either the 1st or 14th of each month.

Paying your business rates by telephone

You can pay over the phone using a debit card.  Please call 01636 650000 during office hours, or use our 24 hour telephone payments line, by phoning 01636 655978.

Please make sure that you have ready:

• your debit card
• your business rates account number
• the amount you wish to pay
• a pen to record the transaction number

Paying your business rates by post

You can send your payment by post by sending your cheque made payable to Newark and Sherwood District Council to:

Please write your name, address and business rates account number on the back of the cheque. Please note that receipts are not sent for these payments.

If you pay by cash or cheque at any of our offices, please ensure that you obtain a receipt from the cashier.       

Paying your business rates on-line

The service is provided by Santander BillPay scheme on behalf of the council. You do not need to hold a Santander account. The service is available 24 hours a day 365 days a year.

Full details of how to use the service, including registering as a new user, and importantly the assurance that the latest encryption technology is used by Santander Corporate Banking, can be found at http://www.billpayment.co.uk/.

Copy bills

Please e-mail us with you full contact details if you require a copy of your business rates bill. Please include full details of your business name and address and business rates reference number if known. E-mail business.rates@nsdc.info
