The work of the Environmental Health section includes:

Food safety and hygiene

How we check that establishments which sell and produce food, are doing so safely, hygienically and within in the law.

Health and safety at work

The council is responsible for monitoring some industries' health and safety and can prosecute employers if laws and safety is contravened.

Public health

The council works in numerous areas to protect and improve public health including the environment, controlling infectious disease and encouraging people to lead healthy lifestyles.

Neighbourhood nuisances

Noisy neighbours, dogs barking, high hedges - the council can take action, where permitted, against people responsible for these problems.

Pollution Control

Helping to monitor and control air quality, noise and litter.

Pest control

We can get rid of pests in your home such as wasps.
