Stroll past herbaceous borders, across the croquet lawn, down mown paths into the old orchard where Paul's Himalayan Musk and other ramblers are there to greet you.

2016 marks the 300th anniversary of the birth of Lancelot 'Capability' Brown. The National Gardens Scheme is supporting The Capability Brown Festival 2016 by opening a group of Brown-inspired gardens.

Burghley House Private South Gardens

The private south gardens will open for the NGS with spectacular spring bulbs with magnificent trees and the opportunity to enjoy Capability Brown's famous lake and summerhouse. Entry via orangery. The Garden of Surprises, the Sculpture Garden and house are open as normal.
Light refreshments available in The Orangery Restaurant.
