Small Island by Little Train: a UK narrow-gauge adventure by Chris Arnot

Narrow-gauge lines were the oddballs of the British railway system. They could get to parts of the UK that main-line trains couldn't and were built on the whims of wealthy men. Today they carry passengers rather than freight as part of the "leisure industry". Chris Arnot has travelled on them to the UK's only official desert, to Britain's second highest mountain, to a steep railway embankment in the wilds of Scotland, and in pitch darkness in coastal Cumbria. Hear these stories and many more as we welcome back a Lowdham Festival favourite!
