There are a variety of services, activities, information and grants available to people with disabilities in Newark and Sherwood.

 

Home adaptations and aids

If you are disabled or infirm, grants are available to adapt your home to help make it safer and more easily accessible.

Sport and physical activity

Newark and Sherwood has a dedicated programme of inclusive activities for the development of sport and physical activity.

The disability programme includes a variety of weekly and monthly activities at various venues.

Leisure centres

All our leisure centres are IFI (inclusive Fitness Initiative) accredited. This means that all our centres and the equipment in the centres are suitable to be used by everyone. Our fitness staff are also trained to meet the needs of disabled people.
