Joint Homelessness Interagency Forum (HIF)
We have adopted a pro-active approach to tackling homelessness and encourage local organisations with a vested interest in homelessness to attend the district's Homelessness Interagency Forum. The forum meets at alternative venues between Newark and Sherwood and Mansfield on a quarterly basis.
The aim of the forum meetings is to ensure the continued monitoring and development of our Homeless Strategy Action Plan, it also provides an opportunity for local organisations to meet and discuss local homelessness issues. By working together, sharing good practice and recognising gaps in current provision, it is hoped that the number of households threatened with homelessness will continue to be managed.
Strategically, the forum is a joint Homeless Interagency Forum between:
- Newark and Sherwood District Council
- Mansfield District Council
- Ashfield District Council
The three councils are responsible for the implementation and monitoring of our Homelessness Strategies 2013-2018. The action plan linked to the strategy is a working document that can be made available on request.
If you wish to attend the forum or would like a copy of the action plan please contact Cheska Asman, Homeless Strategy and Safeguarding Officer
