Following the resignation of Mr Patrick Mercer, the Newark Parliamentary Constituency by-election will be held on Thursday 5 June 2014.
Polling stations will be open from 7.00am until 10.00pm.

Newark Constituency boundary includes areas from Newark and Sherwood District Council, Bassetlaw District Council and Rushcliffe Borough Council.
Registering to vote for this election
Monday 19 May 2014 was the cut off date for registering for this election.
Tuesday 20 May 2014 was the cut off date for postal vote applications for this election.
If you have been granted a postal vote, you will NOT be able to vote in person at this election.

Due to a printing error some postal voters have received incorrect enclosures which related to the European Election which was held on 22 May, 2014 and not the Newark Parliamentary by-election. A letter is going out to all postal voters to explain the position
Wednesday 28 May 2014 was the cut off date for proxy vote applications.
If you have appointed a proxy to vote in person for you, you can still vote yourself, but ONLY if your proxy has not already voted on your behalf. This form must not be completed with an electronic signature.
