Bogus letter warning

4 January 2017

Residents are being warned to be on the lookout for a bogus letter supposedly from Newark and Sherwood District Council.

The letter is printed with a council letterhead and informs residents of an initiative to help the homeless and refugees in the area. According to the letter, residents will be required to rent spare rooms to those in need.

So far the letter has been delivered to homes in Blidworth but the council is concerned it might be a wider spread issue.

If you receive a letter such as this please disregard it. If you receive a letter from the council which you are unsure about please phone 01636 650000.
