Grove Leisure Centre Fire
Statement from Nottinghamshire County Council, Monday 18 September.
Working with our contractors we aim to have all significant fallen debris cleared by the end of today following the fire at the former Grove Leisure Centre in Newark.
This includes removing any visible debris from nearby streets, properties and gardens. Residents are advised that it is alright to wash or hose any ash that may have settled on their property. The nearby Newark Orchard School and Balderton Day Centre have been given the all clear to open tomorrow as normal.
We would like to reassure residents that we are doing all we can to bring forward the demolition of the building which will be in line with approved safety management procedures.
If you have any enquiries please call 07983 541572 Paul McKay from Nottinghamshire County Council’s Risk Safety Emergency Management Board.
