Amended Core Strategy DPD examination
The Newark and Sherwood Amended Core Strategy DPD was submitted for independent examination on 29 September 2017.
Mr Paul Griffiths BSC (Hons) BArch IHBC, from the Planning Inspectorate, has been formally appointed as the Inspector for the examination of the Amended Core Strategy DPD. His role is to determine whether the Amended Core Strategy is sound and complies with all legal requirements. The criteria for soundness are whether the policies are positively prepared, justified, effective and consistent with national policy.
The Council has appointed Carmel Edwards as the Programme Officer for the examination. She will deal with all procedural, administrative and programming matters. She is independent from the Council and reports directly to the Inspector. All correspondence or queries relating to the examination should be directed to the Programme Officer.

As part of the examination the Inspector will call a series of public hearings. More information will be posted here when it is available. Those who commented on the Amended Core Strategy will be contacted directly.
