Community CCTV

Fixed CCTV

NEWARK and SHERWOOD CCTV (close circuit television)

The CCTV system, owned and operated by Newark and Sherwood District Council, has been in continuous operation 24 hours a day, 365 days a year since its debut in October 1999. All our cameras have been strategically placed on buildings and purpose made poles, in a carefully planned overlapping network designed to deter and detect acts of crime and disorder and assist with community safety.

Newark CCTV Control Room

The Control Room is staffed by two controllers, who continuously monitor the 84 cameras and 80 radio link radios in operation. The radio link system enables immediate communication between retailers, including pubs and clubs, the Control Room and other organisations in Newark town centre.

The highly skilled operators work very closely with the Police control rooms and provide a highly effective tool to assist policing in our area.
