Community CCTV
Data Protection The CCTV operation is provided for the benefit of the community and the people who live here. Together with the CCTV managers we ensure that the operation is at all times run in accordance with data protection and human rights legislation and never to the detriment of any individual. All activities and incidents covered within the Control Room are logged. Access to the Control Room is restricted and regular visits and inspections of the Control Room are made by an independent Lay Inspector. To advertise and warn people of CCTV, all areas with CCTV have signs erected with a contract number for the CCTV management in case of complaint or query. To ensure that no camera can zoom in through windows of nearby properties we instruct our CCTV installation contractor to build into the system a privacy zone piece of software that blanks out the images within the window areas. Security Zones Using advanced software we can add security zones to protect private property from being viewed by our fixed CCTV cameras. The fixed zones appear on our CCTV monitors and remain permanently in place.
