THE CASTLE AND CONFLICT EXHIBITION
Visit the Gilstrap Centre in the grounds of Newark Castle and find out more about the history of the Castle. The Castle has been at the heart of the town for centuries and played an important role in historical events. Discover also Newark’s Civil War heritage : Newark was a key town in the struggle between King and Parliament in the 1640’s. Find out more in the Castle and Conflict exhibition – decide if you want to enter the world of the medieval castle, or explore Newark’s Civil War history.
