What is Emergency Planning?

Emergency planning is a part statutory part discretionary Local Authority function. The Emergency Planning team assist with planning and preparation to help lessen the effects of major emergencies of all kinds which may occur within the District, from floods to motorway accidents, and by joint agreement provide assistance to our neighbouring District and County Councils.

Integrated Emergency Planning

We are a signatory to the Nottinghamshire Integrated Emergency Plan and as such form part of a structured approach to dealing with emergencies in Nottinghamshire or providing assistance to its neighbouring counties when they request it.

At least 30 other agencies are involved in integrated Emergency Planning within the County, details of which can be found in our Emergency Plan. (PDF Format)

The Nottinghamshire Prepared website offers information and advice to residents, visitors and businesses on Nottinghamshire's preparation for and responses to major incidents and emergencies.  You can find Government advice on preparations for national emergencies on the UK Resilience website.
