East Coast Main Line Consultation
| Did you know a new timetable for the East Coast Main Line is being developed? It represents the biggest timetable change across the route in 20 years. Proposals which include reducing the number of peak-time southbound services could have a major impact on regular morning users. | |
Newark and Sherwood District Council is working with Newark Business Club and Nottinghamshire County Council to influence the development of the timetable as it seeks to best represent the interests of passengers who use Newark Northgate.
Train operator East Coast is undertaking a consultation and public information exercise in the development of the proposed new timetable, which it has called Eureka!
East Coast has met the council as part of this consultation process and has committed itself to working closely with he council as it develops the timetable and considers the views and aspirations of stakeholders, communities and customers across the 920-mile route. The link below takes you to a special edition of Voice magazine which looks at the emerging proposals and a number of issues that the council and its partners have identified and highlighted to East Coast. It outlines East Coast’s responses to these issues.
