Welcome to Benefits information for Newark and Sherwood District Council.

The purpose of the Housing Benefits Scheme is to help people on low incomes pay their rent. Similarly, the Council Tax Benefit Scheme helps people on low income pay their Council Tax.

You can find information here on the benefit schemes, including frequently asked questions and downloadable Benefits forms and leaflets.

There is also an online benefits calculator. This allows you to work out whether or not you would be entitled to any benefit. Please note: The calculator is meant as a guide only. You will still be required to complete and submit an application form.
