We provide a collection service for items of household waste which will not fit into the wheeled bin such as furniture, garden rubbish, electrical appliances and additional sacks of household waste.
The charge for collection of bulky waste is £10 for the first item and £5 for subsequent items, except for large electrical goods including TVs where the charge is £10 per items.
We cannot collect vehicle parts, soil, bricks and rubble or hazardous waste. These types of waste need to be handled by a specialist waste contractor.
Most household waste can be taken to one of the Nottinghamshire County Council’s tips for household waste, called Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRCs), or if the items are still in serviceable or working condition, why not donate them?
In Newark and Sherwood there are HWRCs at Bilsthorpe, Fiskerton and Brunel Drive in Newark.
To arrange a collection or quote, call our customer services team. You can also download a bulky waste request form.
There is also a number of charities and organisations which may be interested in your second hand furniture and appliances if they are in good condition. These include:
The Furniture Project will collect unwanted furniture and will pass it on to someone in need. Call 01623 836410 for more details.
The British Heart Foundation accepts donations of furniture. Call 0844 499 4152 for more information.
Freecycle is an online swap shop. It gives furniture a second lease of life, as well as helping you to find free items.
