Visitor Parking

Will normal car parks be available on the day?

The Newark NCP multi–storey car park will be closed from 2pm to 4.30pm

All council car parks will be available to use on the day.

Will normal car parking fees apply in these car parks?

Yes usual price tariffs’ will apply for all of the council pay and display car parks.

Is there any additional event parking available?

Yes there will be Tour of Britain Event Parking at the following locations

  • Old Nottinghamshire County Council Highways Depot, Kelham Road, NG24 1BX
  • Beacon Hill Retail Park, Beacon Hill Road, NG24 IJG
  • Devon Park, NG24 4QN
  • Newark High School site, London Road, NG24 1TT
  • Riverside Arena, Tolney Lane, NG24 1BZ

Will event car parks be sign-posted for visitors?

Yes Tour of Britain (TOB) Event Parking will be sign-posted for visitors coming into Newark from all main routes.

What time will the event parking be available?

Event parking will available from 8am to 6pm on Weds 6 Sept

How much is the charge for Tour of Britain event parking?

£5.00 per vehicle

All the event parking sites will have security staff / parking marshalls

Residents Parking

Where is parking available for displaced residents due to road closures

  • Newark High School site, London Road, NG24 1TT
  • Devon Park, Newark, NG24 4QN (Tom Mann Pavilion area)
  • Beacon Hill Retail Park (next to Topps Tiles), Beacon Hill Road, NG24 IJG

When will residents parking be available?

From 2pm on Tuesday 5 Sept until 8pm on Wednesday 6 September.

Will there be security in place

  • Newark High School, London Road, Newark Event day (6 Sept) ONLY from 8am to 6pm
  • Devon Park, Newark (Tom Mann pavilion area) Event day (6 Sept) ONLY Marshalls from Newark Town Football Club 8am to 6pm
  • Beacon Hill Retail Park, Beacon Hill, Newark. This site will have security on the gates from 6pm to 10pm on Tuesday 5 September 2017. From 10pm to 7.30am the gates will be locked for security. There will be an out of hour’s response from a mobile security unit allowing access at any time for residents displaced. Out of Hours Number 01636 650000. Security will then continue to manage this site from 7.30am to 6pm on Wednesday 6 September 2017

Can I remove my car at any time?

This will depend on other nearby road closures happening, but generally yes you will be able to move your car allowing for other road closures when for example the cyclists arrive in Newark.

Will this parking be available to me even though my road isn’t closed for the race

Only residents that are displaced by road closures will have parking provisions for their vehicle. This will include those displaced by Severn Trent and those living on roads cut off by closures.

What proof do I need to gain access to the car park
Proof of address or a valid residents parking permit is required for residents to park free of charge.

Will I have to pay to park
Parking for displaced residents is free of charge with proof of address, otherwise event parking is £5.
