As well as a toilet for disabled people and a baby-changing space, the new toilets in St Mark’s Place, Newark, include facilities for those people who cannot use standard accessible toilets, called a Changing Places toilet.

This includes people with profound and multiple learning disabilities and their carers, as well as many other disabled people. The Changing Places toilets have enough space and the right equipment, including a height adjustable changing bench and a hoist, making Newark’s toilets some of the most modern and accessible in the country.

In order to keep revenue costs down and to offset the cost of having of our toilets at St Mark's Place and the Gilstrap Centre in Newark attended, there is a small charge of 20 pence to use the toilets.

Disabled facilities are available at a number of the sites and these can be accessed 24 hours a day using a Radar Key.
