While in the area, please call in at the Newark Tourist Information Centre on Castlegate. Here we can provide you with a street plan of the town, detailing the various antiques shops, antiques centres and the antiques warehouse, as well as other shopping opportunities and parking details.

We can also help you find accommodation while you are visiting the fair.

Just as in Medieval times, Newark is at its liveliest on market days. There are antiques and crafts markets in the Market Place on Mondays and Thursdays. You can also visit the auction market every Wednesday on the new Riverside Park.

In addition, the Swinderby International Antiques and Collectors Fair is a one-day fair held on alternate months on the former RAF site at Swinderby, just off the A46 towards Lincoln.

International Antiques & Collectors Fair - Newark Showground

The Newark International Antiques and Collectors Fair is a two-day event held at Newark Showground every other month throughout the year. It is organised by International Antiques and Collectors Fairs (01636 702326) and is the largest fair of its kind in Europe. There are up to 4,000 stalls across the 84-acre site at the Newark and Notts Showground at Winthorpe, about 3 miles east of Newark. There are 6 buildings, 44 marquees and hundreds of outside pitches.

For visitors arriving by train, there is a courtesy coach throughout the day from Newark Northgate Station.

The fairs attract thousands of visitors, so if you are wanting to stay overnight in the area, please make sure you book your accommodation early.

For three days immediately prior to the show at Newark, the Antiques and Home Show is held at the Lincoln Showground, approximately 20 miles away.
