Martin Fowkes has been interested in photography all his life. He studied at a local college to achieve qualifications in a number of disciplines although his main interest has always been landscape and wildlife photography.
Martin particularly enjoys photographing in the Lake District and Cornwall. In 2007 he visited Finland to photograph brown bears in the wild and he has photographed tigers in India.
It was probably, however, his first visit to Kenya which really inspired him to develop this website. Having spent time in the Masai Mara, where he photographed African wildlife, Martin hopes to inspire others to take an active interest in this magnificent, but fragile environment, which unless protected may be lost to future generations.
He was privileged to have the services of Joseph, a Masai guide who was an invaluable source of information and Martin wishes to support the Koiyaki guiding school in the Mara in conjunction with the 'Tusk Trust'. Much good is being done at a local level to train guides and it is in support of this work that a percentage of profits made from photograph sales will be donated.
For prices and details of how to order, please contact Martin using the email address below. Alternatively, Martin's wildlife photographs can be viewed and purchased at the following address, where he also sells African crafts.
