Walking can help with your general health, improve your fitness, help you to 'de-stress' and is an activity that can be enjoyed by the whole family.

Natural England's Walking for Health website has lots of information if you're interested in walking your way to health.

Our tourist information centres can provide advice on local walking routes that are suitable for all abilities, as well as providing free maps and leaflets and books to purchase.

Planning Your Route - Where To Walk?

You can walk on all rights of way; footpaths, bridleways, byways and restricted byways as well as on open access land. These are all shown on Ordnance Survey Landranger and Explorer maps.

Some areas of farmland are open to walkers through a Defra/Natural England scheme called Countrywalks. You can search for routes in Nottinghamshire on their website.
