Lowdham Ward By-Election

Following the death of district ward Councillor Mr Keith W Sheppard, an election was held on Thursday 12th April 2012 and the results were as follows:

Timothy Wendels is hereby elected for Lowdham Ward of Newark and Sherwood District Council.

Newark Town Council - Bridge Ward By-Election

The Newark Town Council - Bridge Ward by-election will be held on Thursday 29th March 2012, following the resignation of Town Councillor Mrs Kim Marshall.

New Signatures

For those electors who applied for an absent vote more than five years ago, a new form has recently been sent for you to supply a new signature. If you do not reply by 17th February the law says that you must be sent a reminder and this will cost the Council money.

If you do not supply a new signature by 9th March your absent vote will be cancelled.

Elected Mayor Petition

The Returning Officer must publish a notice each year giving the 5% figure required for the submission of a petition to the authority to hold a referendum on whether to have an elected a mayor.
