Croquet
Croquet is a lawn based game where players knock balls through hoops using a mallet. The balls must pass through the hoops in the correct order and direction. Once the circuit is completed the ball must hit the peg to finish.
Southwell Croquet Club
The club formed in 1985 following an initiative of Newark and Sherwood District Council. The club has its origins in Southwell but because of the need for reliable lawn access they currently play in Morton-cum-Fiskerton.
The playing season runs from mid April to early October. They have two Short Croquet lawns which can be turned into one full sized lawn, a pavilion and groundsman's hut.
There is a playing session every Tuesday afternoon. Members attending these sessions are guaranteed a game during the afternoon or early evening. Once you are a joined up member you can access the facilities at any time. The club is active in entertaining casual visitors from other organisations to taster and therapy events.
Collingham Croquet Club
Founded in 1988, Collingham Croquet Club meet at Copper Beeches on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturday. Members can play at any time. There are no league matches, members play purely for their own enjoyment.
