How to apply

We have designed one application form to make it as simple as possible for eligible businesses to apply.  This form will be available for two weeks and will close at 5pm on Wednesday 25 November 2020.

Local Restrictions Support Grant (Open)

The Local Restrictions Support Grant (Open) is a scheme designed to support businesses in the hospitality, leisure and accommodation sectors that were affected while remaining open under Tier 2 local restrictions in Nottinghamshire from 14 October 2020.

This is a discretionary scheme and the level of funding provided to councils to administer this is based on the number of hospitality, leisure and accommodation within the area.

Awards will be for each 28-day period that the area remained in Tier 2 or in Tier 3 (or awarded on a pro-rata basis if the period was less than 28 days).

  • For hospitality, leisure and accommodation businesses that have a business premise, business rates account and a rateable value.
  • Awards will be based on the business premise rateable value.
  • Businesses are able to claim grants for each qualifying business premise.
  • Grants of up to £934 per 28-day period for businesses occupying hereditaments with a rateable value of exactly £15,000 or under on the date of the commencement of the local restrictions.
  • Grants of up to £1,400 per 28-day period for businesses occupying hereditaments with a rateable value over £15,000 and less than £51,000 on the date of the commencement of the local restrictions.
  • Grants of up to £2,100 per 28-day period for businesses occupying hereditaments with a rateable value of exactly £51,000 or above on the date of the commencement of the local restrictions.

Local Restrictions Support Grant (Closed)

The Local Restrictions Grant (Closed) is a scheme to support businesses in the hospitality, accommodation, beauty and leisure sectors that were legally required to close as a result of Nottinghamshire entering Tier 3 on 30 October 2020. This scheme will be administered in line with Government requirements.

  • For businesses that have a Business Rates account and were legally required to close on 30 October 2020.
  • Businesses occupying hereditaments appearing on the local rating list with a rateable value of exactly £15,000 or under on the date of the commencement of the local restrictions will receive a payment of £667 per 14-day qualifying restriction period.
  • Businesses occupying hereditaments appearing on the local rating list with a rateable value over £15,000 and less than £51,000 on the date of the commencement of the local restrictions will receive a payment of £1,000 per 14-day qualifying restriction period.
  • Businesses occupying hereditaments appearing on the local rating list with a rateable value of exactly £51,000 or above on the commencement date of the local restrictions, will receive £1,500 per 14-day qualifying restriction period.

National Restrictions Support Grant (Closed)

The National Restrictions Support Grant (Closed) is a scheme to support businesses that that have been legally required to close as a result of national restrictions commencing on 5 November 2020. This scheme will be administered in line with Government requirements.

  • For businesses that have a Business Rates account and were legally required to close on 5 November 2020.
  • Businesses occupying hereditaments appearing on the local rating list with a rateable value of exactly £15,000 or under on the date of the commencement of the local restrictions will receive a payment of £1334 per 28-day qualifying restriction period.
  • Businesses occupying hereditaments appearing on the local rating list with a rateable value over £15,000 and less than £51,000 on the date of the commencement of the local restrictions will receive a payment of £2,000 per 28-day qualifying restriction period.
  • Businesses occupying hereditaments appearing on the local rating list with a rateable value of exactly £51,000 or above on the commencement date of the local restrictions, will receive £3,000 per 28-day qualifying restriction period.

Local Restrictions Support Grant (Sector)

The Local Restrictions Support Grant (Sector) is a scheme to support businesses that that were legally required to close on 23 March 2020 and have never been able to re-open. This scheme will be administered in line with Government requirements.

  • For nightclubs, dance halls, discotheques, sexual entertainment venues and hostess bars which have a business rates account and were legally required to close on 23 March 2020 and have been required to remain closed.
  • Businesses occupying hereditaments appearing on the local rating list with a rateable value of exactly £15,000 or under on the date of the commencement of the local restrictions will receive a payment of £667 per 14-day qualifying restriction period.
  • Businesses occupying hereditaments appearing on the local rating list with a rateable value over £15,000 and less than £51,000 on the date of the commencement of the local restrictions will receive a payment of £1,000 per 14-day qualifying restriction period.
  • Businesses occupying hereditaments appearing on the local rating list with a rateable value of exactly £51,000 or above on the commencement date of the local restrictions, will receive £1,500 per 14-day qualifying restriction period.

Additional Restrictions Grant (Local Business Support Grant)

Additional funding has been provided to eligible Local Authorities where Tier 3 or widespread national restrictions are imposed. It has been agreed that this funding will be used for additional discretionary grants across Nottinghamshire, on top of the Local Restrictions Support Grant (Closed) which is provided by the Government.

The Additional Restrictions Grant (also referred to as the Local Business Support Grant) is a scheme to provide support for businesses affected by reduced trading conditions.

The Local Business Support Grant will

  • Support those in the non-essential retail, beauty, hospitality, leisure and accommodation sectors.
  • Support those that directly supply the retail, hospitality, leisure and accommodation sectors.

An eligible business may receive (subject to the availability of funds) a one off payment if the business occupies a property with a rateable value (or if there is no rateable value a proxy such as annual rent) as follows:

  • £1,500 if RV up to £15,000
  • £3,000 if RV is £15,001 to £51,000
  • £7,000 if RV over £51,000
