In conjunction with partners at Broxtowe, Gedling and Rushcliffe Borough Councils, we have created a step-by-step advice wizard to provide you with housing advice and assist you in finding solutions to improve your housing situation. The wizard is shared by all four of the authorities so when using this solution applicants are reminded to ensure you select Newark and Sherwood from any of the drop down menus to make sure you receive advice and suggestions that are relevant to remaining in the district. Some solutions will be generic across all four district and borough council's however some solutions are only available to applicants with a local connection.
Applicants wishing to apply for social housing in Newark and Sherwood will still need to register with Newark and Sherwood Homes.
Our first priority is to stop people from becoming homeless in the first place. Our officers will aim to intervene as early as possible to prevent homelessness.
Sometimes it is not possible to prevent someone from becoming homeless. Our officers will help source accommodation for those unintentionally homeless and in priority need.
We have 26 units of temporary accommodation which can be used to accommodate households in priority need.
