The Housing Strategy and Development Business Unit:

  • Develop housing and regeneration plans across the district to ensure that a range of housing products, affordable and accessible homes are available for our residents and bring transformational change to an area through direct delivery, partnership working and developer negotiations. 
  • Undertake district wide and rural housing needs assessments that inform the districts housing and planning policies. 
  • Undertake a programme of Neighbourhood Studies to identify opportunities, challenges, priorities and vision for a identified locality within the district and implement a delivery action plan.

The Council’s housing priorities are captured within its’ Community Plan and the Business Unit is currently undertaking the following key projects to meet the relevant objectives of the Plan:

  • Yorke Drive Regeneration Scheme 
  • Ollerton & Boughton Master Plan
  • 5 year Council housing development programme to deliver 335 affordable homes
  • Development of 40 unit extra care scheme in Boughton
  • Commissioning an district wide housing needs assessment (due for completion June 20)
