Archery

Archery is a sport based on shooting arrows from a bow towards a target. There are several types of Bows including a traditional longbow, Barebow, Recurve and compound. Points are awarded when the target is hit, more points are given the closer to the centre the arrow is.

Newark Castle Archers

Newark Castle Archers is a young Archery Club who shoot within Newark. The aim of the club is to promote Archery in the district and encourage participation in the sport. We welcome anyone who has an interest in taking up the sport and anyone who is currently a member of other Archery organisations.

Locations:

Winter season from October to March - Thursday's 6:00pm to 8:30pm.

Magnus Community Sports Centre, Bowbridge Road, Newark, NG24 4BZ

Summer season from April til end of September - Sunday 10am-12 noon and Wednesday 6pm-8.30pm.

Sherwood Archers

Sherwood Archers are a friendly club shooting on our own field on the outskirts of Southwell. We are very fortunate to have our own shooting area that Members are able to use every day of the week, Competitions permitting field shoot

During the summer our club nights are Tuesday for informal shooting, and the regular Club night on Friday which includes our Juniors, where there are at least 2 qualified coaches on hand.

We run beginners courses throughout the summer, and are pleased to be able to offer individual tuition, if coaches are available.
We offer a Subsidised Bow Rental scheme, to assist archers with getting into the sport.
