Newark and Sherwood District Council is set to create four new Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) Habitat Banks across the district, marking a major step forward in its commitment to protecting and enhancing the local environment.
Newark and Sherwood District Council has today launched the Rural England Prosperity Fund (REPF) Grant Programme and is open for applications from today until Wednesday 16 July 2025.
Earlier this week, Newark, including Balderton, was selected by the UK government to develop plans for up to £20 million in funding to help drive growth over a ten-year period, through the announcement of the ‘Plan for Neighbourhoods’ scheme.
Newark and Sherwood District Council is expected to be allocated a 12-month extension of UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) to continue to support local projects in the area, to March 2026.
A couple living in the rural village of Kneesall have been served with an injunction prohibiting them from using or threatening to use violence against people living in the village.
Newark and Sherwood District Council has received confirmation that they have successfully completed the validation process for the funding bid for Ollerton and Clipstone. This confirmation takes the council into the final stages of securing the £20m cash injection after the initial ‘in principle’ announcement in November 2023.
Further funding from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) will open for applications by Newark and Sherwood District Council on Wednesday 18 June 2025.
