Newark and Sherwood District Council continues work towards achieving its carbon net zero target as the installation of solar photovoltaic (PV) panels starts at the Newark Beacon.

Following the success of the Community Grant Scheme which has seen local communities benefit across the district, Newark and Sherwood District Council has launched its Community Grant Scheme for 2023/4. The fund of £100,000 is open to groups and charities in the district who can now apply for grants up to £20,000 to help fund projects and schemes in Newark and Sherwood.

Exciting and transformational plans for a new Ollerton Town Centre have been revealed as part of the ongoing regeneration project.  The initial plans can be viewed on the District Council website at www.newark-sherwooddc.gov.uk/ollertonregen

Newark and Sherwood District Council is thrilled to unveil plans to reinvigorate Sherwood Avenue Park, which were shaped by ideas and feedback from the local community.

Newark and Sherwood District Council is continuing to invest in local communities and support local businesses by funding a range of projects and programmes through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) and the Rural England Prosperity Fund (REPF).

Newark and Sherwood District Council are again offering a series of one-hour sessions for local businesses who wish to receive free specialist and local support to help them grow and thrive.

Those who want to find out more about the work taking place at the former M&S building on Stodman Street in Newark are invited to a drop-in event taking place in Newark Market Place on Friday 8 December between 11am and 3pm.

The District Council is pleased to announce that its almost £350,000 investment into play parks across the district is now complete and all ten parks are open for you to enjoy!  

Last month, Newark and Sherwood District Council hosted its third annual Economic Growth Conference at The Pumping House in Boughton. 

This winter families and friends from across the district will be joining in with the festive celebrations and spending valuable time with their loved ones. For some however, the winter months can feel lonely and to support those who need it most this winter, Newark and Sherwood District Council is launching its Winter Wishes campaign where residents can send warm messages of well wishes anonymously to isolated members of our community.
