Junior Rangers forest school

Find out about council-run forest school sessions in your area.

Junior Rangers involves learning and discovery that’s in tune with nature and the great outdoors. Participants will take part in fun outdoor activities in our local parks and woodland.

Open to children in year group's five, six and seven, Junior Rangers aims to promote new skills, confidence, self-esteem and team building and these sessions are being run free of charge.

The woodland and outdoor environment is central to the activities which include looking at the changing seasons and the smells, textures and sounds of nature.

Each session is limited to eight participants. Our Forest School Leaders are trained in first aid and have attained a Level Three Forest Schools leader course.

Available sessions

At Junior Rangers, children will get to build habitats and shelters, learn about fire safety, create their own art pieces using materials around the park, go bird watching, and more over the sessions taking place through school holidays.
