Community and Sports Awards

The Newark and Sherwood Community and Sports Awards 2026 will be taking place on Friday 25 September.

The Newark and Sherwood Community and Sports Awards 2026, organised by Newark and Sherwood District Council in partnership with Radio Newark, will be taking place on Friday 25 September at The Renaissance at Kelham Hall in Newark at 6:30pm. 

The event will honour incredible individuals who go above and beyond to support the community and champion the growth of sports.

13 worthy winners will be awarded for their exceptional contributions in various categories. This will include:

  • The Irena Sendler Humanitarian Award (Sponsored by the Polish Cultural Institute London)
  • Education Provider of the Year (Sponsor TBC)
  • Citizen of the Year (Sponsored by Currys, in partnership with GXO)
  • Young Person of the Year, up to age 17 (Sponsored by Murphy)

How to nominate

Nominations for the awards will be open between 29 May to 3 July 2026. During these dates, you can submit nominations by completing our online form.

On the night, award winners and guests will be treated to a two-course meal, an award ceremony, and a party.

Gold sponsors for the awards are Murphy Group, Active4Today, the Renaissance at Kelham Hall, and Wright Vigar. Without their support, the awards would not be able to take place.
