What goes in your garden waste bin
If you have paid for garden waste collections, you will have a brown bin for your garden waste.
What you can include
You can include:
- grass cuttings
- hedge trimmings
- leaves
- small branches and twigs (up to 10cm in diameter)
- plants and weeds
- cut flowers
- small amounts of soil
Check if your item can be recycled
What not to include
Do not include:
- plastic plant pots and seed trays
- bin liners
- bags of any description, including compostable and biodegradable bags
- animal waste and bedding
- food waste including fruit and vegetable peelings
- treated wood
- invasive plants such as Japanese knotweed
- large amounts of soil
