An updated plan setting out where housing and employment development will be supported in principle across Newark and Sherwood has been adopted by Newark and Sherwood District Council.
Nottingham County Court has made a final injunction order requiring an illegal encampment in Weston to cease operating as a caravan site and be restored to its original condition by 15 January 2027 after Newark and Sherwood District Council applied to restore previous injunction proceedings issued in April 2025.
The Newark Castle Gatehouse Project is set to receive substantial new funding from the Mayor of the East Midlands, Claire Ward, allowing the site to further enhance its visitor offer by opening up its hidden underground spaces, including three dungeons which haven’t been open to the public for a number of years.
