Share your views on housing needs

The District Council has a statutory duty to assess the housing needs of its residents.   To do this the Council is carrying out a major household survey across the district and is inviting residents to take part.   The aim is to understand residents’ housing needs, including the size, type, and tenure of properties to buy and rent.

The Great British Spring Clean has returned for 2026, and Newark and Sherwood District Council is once again backing the national campaign to help keep local streets, green spaces and communities clean, safe and welcoming.

Community produce scheme returns to support residents

Local growers and allotment owners across Newark and Sherwood are being encouraged to donate unused fruit and vegetables as part of the Council’s Crop Drop scheme, which helps ensure surplus home-grown produce is shared within the community rather than going to waste.
