Newark and Sherwood District Council involved tenant Ginnette Hardy has been awarded the ARCH Community Champion Award for her dedication to the community. The award recognises individuals or groups who have dedicated their time to making a difference in their community and to the lives of people living in social housing.

Newark and Sherwood residents need photo ID to vote at elections in May

For the first time, residents in Newark and Sherwood will need to show photographic ID to vote at this year’s local elections taking place on Thursday 4 May 2023. Residents are being urged to make sure they are ready to vote in May by checking they have an accepted form of ID.

The free tree scheme giveaway begins this week

Starting this week Newark and Sherwood residents who applied for a free tree will be able to collect their saplings as part of the District Council’s annual free tree scheme!

District Council urge residents to have their say on kerbside glass recycling plans

RESIDENTS can now have their say on a proposed kerbside glass recycling service, as Newark and Sherwood District Council urge all those living in the district to take part in a public consultation. The responses to this survey will be used to inform its decision on whether a kerbside glass collection service is introduced. The online survey is available at https://www.smartsurvey.co.uk/s/kerbsideglass and the link contains lots of useful information before residents share their opinions.

Additional funding available for final round of support to community-focused groups

A final round of applications for the Community Grant Scheme set up by Newark and Sherwood District Council is now open for limited time having received additional funding from the Council. The third round of the scheme is available for community-focused projects to apply for funding of up to £5,000 each until Wednesday 1 February.
