Event information
With tickets completely free of charge, the events are expected to be popular, and residents are encouraged to secure their places early. Bookings are limited to five tickets per email address, and people are asked to only book what they need and support events taking place in their own locality. Residents must bring a valid ticket with them, as this will be required for entry.
Visitors are invited to make the most of the experience by bringing picnics, blankets or camping chairs and settling in for an afternoon and evening of entertainment. Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult, and while toilet facilities will be available on site, food options may be limited depending on the venue.
To keep the atmosphere safe and enjoyable for everyone, alcohol, gazebos and tents will not be permitted. Security staff will be present at all events and bag checks will be carried out on arrival. With limited parking available, attendees are encouraged to walk where possible. Whatever the weather, the show will go on, so residents are advised to dress appropriately and come prepared.
As these events bring communities together, attendees are also asked to take pride in their surroundings and ensure all litter is taken home at the end of the day.
Councillor Paul Taylor, Portfolio Holder for Public Protection and Community Relations at Newark and Sherwood District Council, said: “We are really excited to bring these outdoor cinema events to communities across the district this summer. They are a fantastic way to bring people together, make the most of our green spaces and enjoy shared experiences right on our doorstep. By offering these screenings free of charge, we want to ensure that as many residents as possible can take part and enjoy a fun, accessible day out with family and friends. We hope people will come along, relax and make the most of what promises to be a brilliant programme of films and community spirit this August.”
