The District Council moves forward with investments to create a carbon net zero Newark and Sherwood

Newark and Sherwood District Council continues its work to reach carbon net zero by 2035, as plans to decarbonise Council owned buildings move ahead following Cabinet’s funding approval.

Abatement Notice served to The Flying Circus, Newark

Newark and Sherwood District Council served an Abatement Notice* on The Flying Circus, Newark on Friday 15 September 2023.  Noise nuisance is covered by the Environmental Protection Act 1990 (Section 79). The law requires that a District Council investigates any complaint it receives in relation to an environmental issue such as noise; and, where a Statutory Nuisance** is established, a District Council legally must then serve an Abatement Notice.

Launching the ‘Accelerator’ Programme

Businesses in Newark and Sherwood are invited to an online information event on 27 September 2023, 9.30am to 10.30am, to learn more about fully funded support to become more environmentally sustainable and to access specialist research and innovation advice and technologies through the new Accelerator Programme.
