Newark and Sherwood District Council is cracking down on vandalism and anti-social behaviour following a spate of incidents at parks across the district and is asking residents for their help protecting our much-loved parks.
Through Newark and Sherwood District Council’s allocation of the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, Newark R&M Cricket Club has been awarded funding of £100,000 to help them achieve their £450,000 plans for site improvements.
Last week, Newark and Sherwood District Council received a grant of £1.4million from The National Lottery Heritage Fund for its ambitious plans to create a new and improved visitor attraction at Newark Castle.
Newark and Sherwood District Council appointed a new Chair and Vice-Chair during the Annual Council meeting on Tuesday 21 May. Nominations were invited for the Chair by Councillor Celia Brooks as her final duty as Chair. Councillor Jean Hall was nominated by Councillor Rowan Cozens, Deputy Leader of Newark and Sherwood District Council and seconded by Councillor Susan Crosby. She was then elected unanimously by council members. She will remain in office for the coming year.
