Newark and Sherwood District Council continues to take massive steps towards achieving its carbon net zero target as the installation of solar photovoltaic (PV) panels on selected Council buildings begins.

The first phase to transform the empty former M&S building on Stodman Street in Newark into an attractive hub made up of homes and retail units is underway.  This ambitious project will breathe new life into the heart of the town when completed.

With the help of a £20,000 grant from Newark and Sherwood District Council, Robin Hood Colts, the grass roots football team based in Edwinstowe, in partnership with Edwinstowe Parish Council, has upgraded its pavilion with solar panels.

Several primary schools in Newark and Sherwood will be getting the ‘Premier League’ treatment over the next two years as Nottingham Forest Community Trust launches their Primary Stars programme across the district.

An outright and immediate possession order has been secured by Newark and Sherwood District Council’s Housing Team for a property on Carswell Close in Newark following serious anti-social and intimidating behaviour by the 69 year old former tenant who is currently on remand, awaiting sentencing for his crimes.
