Tenant engagement

Get involved with our tenant engagement community and help shape what we do and how we do it.

Tenant involvement opportunities

If you want to get involved you can either speak informally to a tenant who is already involved or, if you want general advice about what is available at the moment, email our tenant engagement officers at getinvolved@newark-sherwooddc.gov.uk.

Tenant views feed into important decision‑making groups, such as the Tenant Engagement Board, Housing Assurance Board, and the council’s Policy and Performance Improvement Committee

We also have Tenant Champions covering different areas in Newark and Sherwood. Tenant Champions help make sure tenant perspectives are heard on key issues such as building safety.

If you prefer something more hands‑on, you can join one of our specific engagement opportunities, such as:

  • empty homes inspectors
  • cleaning inspectors
  • themed working groups
  • grounds maintenance champions
  • sounding board
  • consultations

These roles let you give practical feedback on the services that matter to you.

For people interested in particular issues or topics, our Community Link Groups bring together tenants who want to share ideas, experiences, and solutions.
