Tendering for Council contracts

Any business can tender for a contract with us. Read our guide to public sector tendering (PDF File, 391kb) for more details and advice.

Contracts register

Search for awarded council contracts on our contracts register on the EastMidsTenders website.

Some contracts are let through a framework agreement set up by a group of local authorities, or one of the public sector buying organisation such as the Crown Commercial Service (CCS) or the Eastern Shires Purchasing Organisation (ESPO).

Finding our tenders

In line with other local authorities in Nottinghamshire, contract opportunities are advertised on the EastMidsTenders portal.

We are also required to advertise all contract opportunities with a total value estimated to be greater than £25,000 on the national contracts finder web portal, unless our Contract Procedure Rules (PDF File, 964kb) stipulate otherwise. The portal is part of the UK Government's ongoing transparency initiative, aimed at making it easier for businesses to find and apply for public sector contracts.

Contracts with a total value that exceeds the relevant OJEU threshold must also be advertised in the Offical Journal of the European Union (OJEU). These tenders will also be posted on the Contracts Finder and EastMidsTenders websites where appropriate.

You can register free-of-charge with the above websites for email alerts in order to receive contract opportunities tailored to your specific business interests.

Newark and Sherwood District Council as a purchaser

In many occasions where Newark and Sherwood Council purchases something from a supplier, a contract will be drawn up specifically for the provision of purchase. Where this is not the case, the terms and conditions for the supply of goods and services [43kb] will apply in respect of the purchase.
