District Council to approve social housing rent for 2025 – 26

Newark and Sherwood District Council owns around 5,500 homes for social and affordable rent and is committed to improving their service for all their tenants.  There are plans to further invest in the repairs service, building safety, and meet energy-efficiency targets by 2030. In order to achieve these objectives, rent and services charges to tenants have been reviewed.

Exhibition Evokes Memories of Cooking Through the Decades

A mini exhibition at the National Civil War Centre is now on display, offering an insight into food and drink preparation through the decades. Celebrating the display’s location, in the foyer between the museum and Café Nineteen20, the objects all have a catering theme and evoke memories and images of kitchens over the past 100 years.

To be celebrating 2024 and looking ahead to 2025 seems almost unbelievable but as I do so, I am proud of what Newark and Sherwood District Council has achieved over the last year and am excited about what is coming to our district in the year ahead too.

Recycle Your Christmas Tree with the District Council

The spirit of Christmas is all about giving so once your Christmas tree has finished providing joy in your home, why not give back to the environment by recycling it! Newark and Sherwood District Council’s Christmas Tree Recycling Scheme is back for another year and residents can book a collection now.
