District Council’s free tree scheme running for sixth year

Newark and Sherwood District Council is proud to relaunch its FREE tree scheme, which has given more than 14,400 trees to residents and community groups over the past five years. This has been a hugely successful project with residents, community groups and Parish Councils getting involved to enhance the environment and inspire future generations.

Update on the Kiddey Stones consultation

Robert Kiddey was a sculptor, artist and teacher, born in Nottingham in 1900. His work is visible across Nottinghamshire, including on the Nottingham’s Council House and County Hall. Many of his works depict the working people of Nottinghamshire, including coalminers, metalworkers and agricultural labourers.

Action taken to tackle unacceptable fly-tipping at world famous forest

A hot spot area which has been blighted by industrial-scale fly tipping and unacceptable environmental damage at one of the most iconic forests in the world has seen barriers installed to prevent access for vehicles while still maintaining access for pedestrians and cyclists.

Tune into the Festive Spirit at Vicar Water Country Park

Vicar Water Country Park is tuning up for a festive symphony of holiday cheer and musical delights on Saturday 7 December from 10am to 12.30pm. Musicworks and Open Doors are teaming up with Rumbles Café to bring visitors a morning of live music and joy at ‘Sing with Santa’.
