The Air and Space Institute (ASI) has announced a new strategic partnership with Nottingham Trent University (NTU) – The Times and The Sunday Times Modern University of the Year for 2023. 

Through UK Shared Prosperity Funding, Newark and Sherwood District Council have been able to support partners YMCA Newark and Sherwood in the delivery of an adventure guides programme to support the local community whilst protecting wildlife and building a sense of pride in place.

Today, Newark and Sherwood District Council, as part of its Great British Spring Clean Week, has announced that the new community garden, developed on land adjacent to Newark Library, is open and available to book free of charge to any community group or individual for activities and events!

The District Council already has over 12,000 signed up to their garden recycling service and are reminding residents that they can still join or renew their membership to the service for 2023/24.

Businesses in Ollerton are encouraged to complete a survey to help the District Council understand the current conditions of the town and what support businesses feel is needed to help them thrive.

During the Great British Spring Clean week, Newark and Sherwood District Council has confirmed the imminent installation of solar photovoltaic (PV) panels across several of its buildings as it continues with its target to become carbon neutral by 2035.

After a hugely successful debut last year which saw over 4000 visitors flock to its grounds, Newark Castle will once again be hosting a free Medieval Fun Day next month.

The District Council continues work to protect, maintain and enhance the district’s biodiversity and landscapes, and create a greener Newark and Sherwood.

The Great British Spring Clean is underway in Newark and Sherwood, and the District Council have given over 70 Town and Parish Council’s a free tree sapling to plant as part of their program of green activities for the campaign.
